M/S Origo / Malmö / Freja
The ultimate in polar exploration, this boutique Svalbard polar bear cruise offers something unique to the modern day explorer.
The M/S Origo / Malmö / Freya are three sister ships initially built as research vessels for the Swedish Maritime Administration. They have been rebuilt for the purpose of cruises and ice-strengthened in order for the ship to explore difficult-to-reach areas. These fantastic micro expedition vessels small enough to navigate to places few other ships can get to - which happen to be prime polar bear territory. Classic and intimate expedition ships with a warm and friendly atmosphere.
There are four twin cabins with two lower berths and a private bathroom. These cabins have an optional upper berth which can also be used as triples. There are a further two twin cabins with upper and lower berths and a private bathroom. As well as a fully stocked bar, guests will have the added luxury of a sauna to relax in after a long days searching for polar bears in the icy seas of the Svalbard Archipelago.
Ice Class
Certified with a 1A ice class which means it has been built for polar waters and can handle ice up to 80 centimetres thick.

9, 10, 25, 26 and 30: Single cabins with private facilities(Upper and lower bunks)
31: Spacious double cabin with private facilities(Side by side berths)
21: Spacious double cabin(two upper and lower bunks + one extra separate bed. Shared facilities.
22, 23 and 24: Single cabins with shared facilities(Upper and lower bunks)
28 and 29: (Guide and crew cabins)
All single cabins can be used as double cabins for couples and people traveling together
Dining
All meals are included during your stay, which will be a range of European style dishes. Almost any dietary requirements can be catered for as long as you have given sufficient notice to your destination specialist.
