At just 35 metres in length, Coral Expeditions II is the ideal small ship for discovering the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Small enough to allow snorkelling directly from the ship, yet equipped with the facilities of a much larger vessel, your cruise aboard Coral Expeditions II will be truly memorable.
Coral Expeditions II is an Australian-flagged, Australian-crewed classic catamaran designed and built for maximum stability and guest comfort. With a shallow draught and high manoeuvrability, she can go where large cruise ships cannot.
Accommodating just 44 guests, Coral Expeditions II has an intimate, informal atmosphere. The 22 onboard rooms range from 14 to 15 square metres, are comfortable with natural light, iPod docks, en-suites, and are serviced daily. Coral Expeditions II’s spacious lounge is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink from the cocktail bar in air-conditioned comfort, and features a comprehensive reference library and plasma screens. The large Sun Deck is another popular place to relax and take in the sights, with comfortable deck chairs and stylish teak furnishings.
Coral Expeditions II carries a glass bottom coral viewing boat, and a complement of Zodiacs and kayaks that are used in our expedition itineraries.
With a maximum of just 44 guests, our chefs have the creative freedom to prepare small batch meals from scratch using locally sourced ingredients including the fresh seafood and spectacular tropical fruits for which northern Australia is renowned. Curated by our resident wine expert, our bar features artisanal spirits and a range of Australian and New Zealand wines. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are available all day at no extra cost. The Dining Room offers open-seat dining without the need to reserve a table, allowing you to dine with old or new friends on each occasion. There is no dress code. We are able to handle dietary preferences and allergies with one week’s advance notice.
Guests are welcome to visit the bridge, have a chat with the Captain and Australian and New Zealand crew and observe as our of cers navigate through inlets and rivers.
Expert expedition staff are a hallmark of every voyage. A resident Marine Biologist will accompany you on memorable glass bottom boat tours, invite you to onboard shark feeding displays and lead you on rainforest and beachcombing walks. Guided snorkelling tours are also available, and the qualified Dive Instructor invites you to take part in a complimentary SCUBA skills session and offers novices and certified divers optional diving over the magnificent Great Barrier Reef. Both in-water and land-based activities are designed to suit a variety of physical fitness levels. No athletic ability is presumed.
Coral Expeditions II is equipped with a eet of kayaks, an in atable Zodiac and a spacious glass bottom coral viewing boat. Boarding of the glass bottom boat is safe and easy, simply step aboard before the boat is gently lowered into the water by hydraulic lift, ensuring there is no need to clamber aboard or get your feet wet.
Choose from four grades of stylishly appointed rooms, each tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings and original artworks. Enjoy the comforts of the spacious en suite bathroom, featuring hairdryer, international power outlets, shower, vanity unit and toilet facilities. Rooms also feature picture windows for expansive ocean views, ample storage space, air-conditioning and personal music device. All rooms are serviced daily and feature luxurious toiletries.
Our four Deluxe Staterooms are located at the stern of B Deck, in close proximity to the Bridge and the full length Sun Deck and spa pool. Decorated in a traditional maritime style with wood panelling, Deluxe Staterooms are a spacious 15sqm (162 square feet) in size and feature picture windows for expansive ocean views along with a comfortable settee, desk, ample storage space and your choice of fixed double or twin beds (subject to availability).
Our nine Upper Deck Staterooms are located on Deck B, a dedicated accommodation deck offering a quiet environment, yet still in close proximity to the Bridge, Sun Deck and Dining Room. Decorated in a traditional maritime style with wood panelling and comfortable furnishings, Upper Deck Staterooms are 14sqm (151 square feet) in size and feature picture windows for expansive ocean views along with a desk, ample storage space and your choice of fixed double or twin beds (subject to availability).
Our four Stateroom category rooms are located midship on Deck C, close to the Dining Room and our Glass Bottom Boat boarding platform. Ideal for those wishing to avoid stairs, Stateroom category rooms feature a traditional maritime decor with wood panelling and comfortable furnishings. At 14sqm (151 square feet) in size Staterooms offer plenty of space to relax and feature picture windows for expansive ocean views along with a desk, ample storage space and your choice of fixed double or twin beds (subject to availability).
Perfectly suited to those guests on a budget, Cabin category rooms are located close to the bow of the ship on Deck C, close to the Dining Room and our Glass Bottom Boat boarding platform. Cabin category rooms feature traditional maritime decor with wood panelling and comfortable furnishings and are sized from 10.50sqm to 14sqm (141 to 151 square feet) in size. Cabins feature picture windows for expansive ocean views, air-conditioning, ample storage space and fixed twin beds.
